After our tour of Hearst Castle in San Simeon, we popped across the street for lunch and a wine tasting. Since I’m not much of a wine person, I opted for this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from local (Paso Robles)Firestone Walker Brewing Company . Very good, though it was a touch hoppy for my taste.

I’m currently drinking another Firestone Brewery product, their 805 ale. Also very tasty.

On to Santa Barbara tomorrow.

Last summer the family and I did a road trip up from AZ, through central Cali (hitting Sequoia) up to Oregon (going to Crater lake and Bend) on to PDX, then Astoria, and then down the coast over the space of 3 weeks. We hit more breweries, but the one brewery which was non-negotiable was Firestone Walker.

Paso Robles is beautiful and they have pretty good food at the brewery. Sounds like you’ve got a nice trip yourself.  Enjoy!
